Best time to travel: July - October

Wildlife watching at Tarangire National Park and at the world-famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area makes this 2-day Tanzania camping safari a wonderful experience.

Day 1 Arusha - Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and after a 2-hour drive you will reach the Tarangire National Park, which is also known as 'the elephant park in Tanzania'. The landscape of the park is made up of seasonal marshes and a seemingly endless tree savannah with its mighty baobab trees. The dry season runs from July until October and this is perhaps the best time to visit the national park. The reason for this is that the Tarangire River is the only permanent source of water during this time and therefore the wildlife tends to concentrate in this area. You can therefore observe the herds of buffalos and wildebeests as they come down to the river for drinking. Other animals of the park that also assemble in this area are lions, leopards, zebras, antelopes and gazelles. After a full morning of wildlife watching, you will stop for a midday break and have lunch at a picnic spot. After lunch, you will have some more time to observe the animals before you leave the Tarangire National Park and camp for the night at a nearby campsite. Lunch; Dinner

Day 2 Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Arusha

During the early morning hours, you will drive to the lush upland crater in which the destination for today is the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. Due to its impressive size and the large density of mammals, it is often called the eighth wonder of the world. The massive caldera is the home of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, buffalos, various antelopes and gazelles as well as hippopotami and hyenas. There is also a great chance of spotting leopards, lions and the endangered black rhinoceros. After lunch in the crater and further wildlife watching, you will leave the crater and return to Arusha. Breakfast; Lunch
