Meru View Lodge is named after the nearby mountain, Mt. Meru and has a large and shady garden. On a clear day it commands a good view of Mt. Meru as well as the Kibo, the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro, the highest peak at an altitude of 5 895 m.
Only a stone’s throw away from Arusha National Park at an altitude of almost 1400 m, the cosy bungalows at Meru View Lodge serve as an ideal starting point for mountain tours taking place on Mt. Meru. It is situated between Kilimanjaro Airport (one hour) and Arusha (20 minutes drive).
The small quaint restaurant is located in the main building with views across the lush countryside of the Ngongongare region. The restaurant offers typical African and European dishes, including home-baked bread and home-made dairy products. End your busy day outside in the shade enjoying a drink or in the pool. Internet access and a laundry service are also available. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The lodge has 15 comfortable rooms in 11 bungalows. All rooms include a shower and toilet, a small terrace, mosquito nets and duvets for the cool highland nights.
