Jambo to the team of Tanzania Experience
“Fabulous and unforgettable safari”
Our private 8-day lodge safari took us from Kilimanjaro Airport to the Arusha, Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks as well as the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and down into the Ngorongoro Crater. The trip will remain memorable mostly thanks to our excellent guide Tumaini. He was always punctual and ready way before the agreed departure time and always tried to get us as close as possible to the animals without scaring or disturbing them. Thanks to this we enjoyed superb film and photo opportunities.
Even when it came to our unusual shopping requests, he actively assisted us and spoke to friends about the best shopping possibilities. He outdid himself every single day and in addition to the usual highlights and the “Big Five”, he showed us the vast flora and fauna as well as local Masai villages. We were able to meet some Masai and were given an insight into their daily life which seemed unimaginable to us.
The lodges were all different when it came to furnishing and facilities but all of them offered great service and very good food. The Meru View Lodge in Arusha with its own charm and rustic setup proved to be an excellent starting point for visitors climbing Mount Meru and / or Mount Kilimanjaro. In our opinion, the Tarangire and Serengeti Sopa Lodges are not without reason some of the best lodges, closely followed by the Ngorongoro Farm House. The accommodation was great at all three properties and the food was of superior quality and outstanding variety.
A tip for all future safari participants: Take along a sturdy flyswatter to eradicate the sporadically but massive swarms of Tsetse flies. The bites are painful and currently there is no suitable prophylaxis for the sleeping sickness that is transmitted through Tsetse flies (hence the appropriate clothing).
Our beach holiday on the east coast of Zanzibar at the “Blue Bay Beach Resort” was very relaxing. The hotel was magnificent, the variety of food was very good and the service was superb.
On a related note, we would also like to mention that all transfer drivers were always very punctual and offered us a first glimpse of the country and its people.
We will definitely recommend the tour operator Elefant-Tours and its subsidiary Tanzania-Experience.
We would once again like to thank all those involved in the booking, organisation and execution of our dream holiday. Please also forward our thanks to our new friend, Tumaini.
Warm greetings and all the best!
