A few weeks have passed since our safari in Tanzania and we still reminisce daily about this beautiful, indescribable country. We had the chance to enjoy a wonderful, exciting and unforgettable time in Tanzania and on Zanzibar.
Our guide, Enock, with his pleasant, capable, calm and friendly demeanour, contributed much to the success of our tour. From the very first moment we felt at ease and he was able to tell us so much about his country, people, culture and animals – it was perfect! With eyes like a hawk he spotted animals from miles away and the joy and respect he has for nature and the people really impressed us. He always exercised caution in order to allow us to be as close to the animals as possible without “disturbing” them, which is unfortunately not always the case with other safari companies.
The national parks in Tanzania were all beautiful and impressive in their own unique way – one truly has to experience it for yourself. If you have the time a detour to Lake Natron is well worth it. We drove through landscapes and met people, which we would not have seen elsewhere on safari. It is a longer but worthwhile journey.
The mixture of tented camps – which were more comfortable than we expected – and smaller lodges suited us perfectly. We appreciated the familiar, warm atmosphere very much and in the evenings it was wonderful to relax around the fire, listen to nature and just enjoy the “Bush-TV”. The staff members throughout were friendly and professional and the meals were – no matter how secluded we were – always excellent (we had read many positive comments about the food, however it still exceeded our expectations)
The fantastic end to our trip were the days spent on Zanzibar at the Shooting Star Lodge. An idyllic place, small and beautiful, very familiar and exactly what we needed to relax after a tiring safari. For those seeking entertainment and action, this is not the place. The high and low tides in this part of the island is very noticeable, so much so that the pool was preferred to the ocean.
All of these fantastic and unforgettable experiences would not have come to be without the perfect planning and organisation by Elefant-Tours and the smooth execution by Tanzania-Experience. Mr Franco de la Corte advised us excellently and always catered to our unique wishes in a friendly and competent manner. Thus the planning of the tour was already part of the anticipation. The Tanzania-Experience Team onsite also provided excellent work and everything – from the warm welcome at the airport and the tour briefing to the transfers on Zanzibar – went off without a hitch. In this regard a heartfelt thanks and kudos to the whole team!
The tour exceeded our expectations and wishes. This is for certain not our last time in Africa and we will definitely think of Elefant-Tours / Tanzania Experience again for our next trip.
