The moment Faraja saw an elephant for the first time as a young boy, he knew, he wanted to spend his career working with the gentle giants. Fast-forward a number of years, he holds a Diploma in Tourism and Animal Behaviour from the renowned College of African Wildlife Management Mweka in Moshi. Faraja joined our team in 2013 and enjoys going on safari with families in particular. Having everyone together, sharing stories over lunch in the bush puts a big smile on his face. To him safari is not only about ticking off the Big Five, but educating his guests about the social structures and behaviour of animals and the fragile ecosystems they live in. He enjoys travelling to the southern parks Ruaha, Selous and Mikumi. Having studied in Germany, getting to know a different culture, he looks forward to sharing Tanzania’s culture with his guests.
What our guests say about Faraja:
„We’ve been on many safaris, but this was the best safari by far – especially thanks to Faraja. He was welcoming, always ready to assist us and always on time; really outstanding! He was always eager to show us as much as possible and share his knowledge at the same time.” Nicole and Peter from Germany
„You could see day after day how much joy he finds in his job, his home country and the wildlife in particular.” Sandra and André from Switzerland
„Faraja had a unique ability to find the most interesting animals. This ability, the natural surroundings and animals which we experienced up close coupled with Faraja’s knowledge about Tanzania and the different game reserves made this safari an unforgettable experience for us.” Marc and Johannes from Germany
„Warm greetings to Faraja – who bore our quirks uncomplainingly and even shared in our unconventional humour. It was touching how well he took care of us and we always felt in good hands.” Silke from Germany
