Max has been working as a tour guide since 2012. He grew up in Ngongongare, the last village before the Arusha National Park. His father has a coffee and bees farm here, making Max a coffee expert. Becoming a safari guide was his dream ever since he was a little boy. When he was young, he would see the jeeps with visitors in the Arusha National Park. One day he came home and told his dad that he wanted to take travellers to the bush. Every night, he studied to learn more about wildlife and nature. He is very interested in thoroughly understanding situations he encounters on safari and has a lot of in-depth knowledge about the social structures and dynamics of wild game. He is also very knowledgeable about birds: Max knows over 525 bird species. Moreover, he is familiar with plants and insects. What Max loves most about Tanzania is that the country makes an effort not to disturb the wilderness. His favourite places are the Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro National Park because of their incredibly diverse landscapes and wildlife in a relatively small area.
Max speaks English, Swahili and the Meru language. He is currently learning German.
