Joseph grew up in Marangu, close to the border of the Kilimanjaro National Park. Many residents of the village work on the mountain, so when Joseph chose a career as mountain guide it didn’t come as a surprise. After climbing Kili as porter for two years, he completed his guiding training and has been part of the Tanzania-Experience team since 2011. When climbing Kili, Joseph reminds you not only to focus on making it to the top, but to take in the scenery as well, appreciating the diverse flora and fauna of Kilimanjaro.
Joseph has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro more than 200 times.
